Finding Your Purpose
Updated: Apr 26, 2018
Finding your purpose can be one of the most liberating things you could possibly do for yourself. On the other hand, finding your purpose can cause a lot of conflict within yourself. The most important question to ask first is:
What does the word PURPOSE mean to you?
The word purpose to me means being passionate and fulfilled in what it is I plan to do. For some, this means making an impact in the world, for others it is just being the best person they can be. The definition of purpose will help you figure out what yours may be.
When you hear the word PURPOSE what comes up for you?
Are you overcome with a feeling of being overwhelmed? OR Are you filled with a feeling of excitement? What ever happens for you when you hear this word will tell you something. It is important to explore this a little more so you may closely align yourself with your inner wants and needs.
What does PURPOSE look like?
If you can visualize what purpose looks like for you, it may be a little easier to picture what YOUR purpose is. Purpose, for me, is seeing myself happy and thriving by helping others. In turn, I see those individuals making changes in their lives for the better. This prompts more questions for myself (which may be applied to your visualization of purpose) such as:
What am I doing/saying which is allowing me to be happy and thriving?
How is this impacting myself/others?
What about this visualization is different from where I am in my life at the present time?
How do I get closer to my visualization?
What may stand in the way?
How will I overcome this to find my PURPOSE?
This leads us to the final question:
How do I take the first step towards my PURPOSE?
It may be a baby step at first, but it is at least a step toward your goal. It takes courage and belief in yourself to even take the first step. You can do it!
